Dear Readers,

Welcome to the March 2024 edition of the Funding Strategies newsletter!

Ramadan Mubarak!

Happy Easter!

Wishing you and yours peace.

From Mark's Desk

"I had the pleasure of attending the Growth Capital Forum at the end of February in Sydney.

It is always good to get exposure to new initiatives and people in the ecosystem.  It is an opportunity to get an independent view of what is happening in the market, and to connect with new and familiar faces.

We note some of the larger funds have set up new technology funds doing minority investments.  Given the market conditions there was definitely a theme around adding value to businesses, building better businesses and understanding what the business will look like post investment.

M&A continued to be an important growth strategy with a view to geographic, product and channel growth etc.  The conference was sponsored in part by CEFC (Clean Energy Finance Corporation) underpinning the importance of the energy transition (technology and capital) that Australia is undertaking."

We have included some images of the event below.

McCormick Harris Insurance Update

"The tide is turning...in your favour -

Summer Newsletter"

"Ask any small business owner what keeps them awake at night, and you’re bound to get the same answer: rising costs. Wages, rentals, utilities, the list goes on. Insurance, long under the radar, has added to budget strains in the past few years. But relief is here. After a long period of premiums rising sharply, they are beginning to level out and, in some cases, fall significantly, according to various industry reports."
