From all of us here in Brisbane, we wish you all the best for the upcoming festive season and we hope you have a refreshing break for a great start into 2024!

It has been an interesting last quarter to the year.
On the macro side we have seen an increase in confidence around the stock
market and an increase in the number of companies wanting to list (we assisted
Freedom Care Group Holdings), and at the same time we have seen a slump in business
confidence with consumer confidence essentially remaining the same.
There
has been an increase in our sales pipeline and while we continue to see
companies looking for finance and capital for growth, we are seeing
an increasing number of companies looking to re-finance facilities, and
companies that need support around working capital, building a “safety net” and
paying down ATO debts. Companies also seem to be struggling with
“management accounting” and this is impacting the financing of their business.
We
been seen both equity and debt investor being active with approx. $28m+ in
terms sheets or funds invested / being raised during the quarter between our
BlueMount Capital and Funding Strategies brands.
Buy side
activity has also been strong. We continue to help work with our
clients to solve their “operational problems”, help with strategic direction,
creation and execution a funding strategy through Strategy Sessions, Financial Modelling, Investment
Documents, Investor Distribution and supporting investment.
We
look forward to the continued momentum in the 1st quarter next

- On 31 January, we will be introducing Project Sustainability, an Australian company specialising in on- and off-grid systems, design and energy products.

- On 21 February, we will discuss our services. In addition to offering a diverse range of quality investment opportunities and raising capital, Funding Strategies is ready to assist your business with our services. We can do everything from planning, strategy and document preparation to board member reviews or planning exit strategies.

Mergermarket M&A Forum in Hong Kong |
Our Director, M&A, Flora Mok (image left), attended the Mergermarket M&A Forum in Hong Kong on 6 December 2023.
Over 200 participants and speakers attended. She was able to meet with various investors, funders and contacts during the event.
The speakers were cautious about the investment and economic environment in the Greater China region, particularly the relatively high interest rates that are projected to stay for a longer than initially expected.

Some of the speakers mentioned that they
have been diversifying their investments into other jurisdictions such as South
East Asia and Australia. They mentioned that the mid market deals have
been very active in Australia and stayed positive regarding the economic
development and investment opportunities in Australia.
