Welcome to the July 2024 edition of the Funding Strategies newsletter!
|
"Given the
end of financial year I thought I would comment on the trends in the last 6
months in terms of what we have been seeing in our market.
|
|
|
Business
confidence has seen a strong increase in June (the main issues have been input
and employment costs). Consumer confidence has improved slightly, presumably reflecting the hope that interest rates won’t rise further (interest
rates rose just over 1% during the period).
While new listing numbers are
well down on previous periods, the stock market has continued its positive
rise.
From an activity point-of-view, surprisingly the level of activity
has remained consistent, although we are seeing more distressed companies
(receivables / ATO tax debt issues) as well as our share of growth companies and
those looking to undertake transactions. We are running a number of sell
and buy side assignments at the moment.
The forecasters are
pointing to “another soft quarter in Q2”, and one would describe the market as
a “mixed bag” but with the overall trends heading in the right direction.
If any of these issues are arising
in your business please call us for an obligation free "assessment"
and options on how to move forward."

Ajeka Pty Ltd
ISO27001 Certification & Upcoming Webinar
|
|
|
|
We are delighted to advise you that Ajeka Pty Ltd ("Project FST") has earned ISO 27001 Information Security Managment System
Certification for the provision of regulatory compliant digital and analytics
solutions.
|
Founder and
Managing Director, Chris Tilling (pictured left), states:
"This is a significant
milestone, which demonstrates our commitment to Data and Cyber risk management.
As we hurtle head-long towards connected-world that is derived by data and
connected by intelligence, the need to manage these risks will only increase.
This is the first major milestone in a series of similar actions that we are
undertaking to strengthen our security posture in readiness for product and
service evolution."
|
|
|
|
The ISO 27001 is a rigorous standard that recognises capability maturity of the management of data and information within an entity. The purpose of obtaining certification is to provide assurance to customers that Ajeka has appropriate methods, operational maturity, and knowledge to provide services listed in its portfolio. It is anticipated that this will attract more clients, particularly larger clients, who recognise the value that this certification provides.

Missed Opportunities in the Australian Corporate Bond Middle Market
|
An article by Len McDowall
|
"Generally, primary issuance in the bond market is significantly larger than the equities market, but in Australia it is the reverse. This is especially so for the middle market in Australia which underutilises corporate and project bonds in funding their capital stack.
The graphs below show the comparative global primary issuance of bonds and equity. The bond issuance of US$27.3 trillion in 2020 dwarfs the US$827 billion in equity raised in the same year."
